Boarding rules according to your equipment

Bikes and folding bikes

Bikes and folding bikes are accepted on board (with or without electric assistance).

Panniers and trailers subject to conditions

Luggage and panniers should be removed from bikes and trailers folded.

Large-volume bikes

Tricycles, fatbikes, scooters, tandems and cargo bikes... are not permitted on board.

When travelling with your bike, DO

  • Opt for a folding bike or scooter so you can take them on board the train without booking.

  • Booking is not required for dismantled bikes placed in a carry bag (maximum size: 130 x 90cm).

  • Aim to travel at non-peak times (9:30 am to 4 pm).

  • For affected TERs, remember to bring your free bike booking with you as well as your train ticket.

  • Locate the bike icon on the train and board there.

  • Tag your bike (like your luggage).

  • Préparez votre descente afin de ne pas gêner celle des autres voyageurs.

  • Prepare for your stop so as to not obstruct other passengers getting off the train.

  • Arrive about 10 minutes before the departure of your TER to load your bike.

Did you know?

SNCF has introduced the Door-to-Door Luggage Service. Your bike is taken care of from your point of departure to arrival at your final destination.

  • No, you will need to make one booking only. However, the trailer must be folded, otherwise it will be denied access.

  • Folding bikes are considered luggage, as long as they are folded and carried in a carry bag (maximum size: 130 x 90cm). In this case, you do not need a bike booking to take your bike with you on board.

  • The maximum number of bookings per transaction is limited to 5.

If you're travelling with more than five people, make sure the train has enough spaces.

  • Bike storage spaces are indicated by icons on the access doors. Inside the train, dedicated bike spaces are provided which must be used for bike storage.

You must ensure that you do not cause any obstruction, either to the safety or movement of other passengers.

We recommend that you identify your bike by attaching a "luggage" tag, and to ensure its monitoring and handling.
