Château de Mâlain
Mâlain castle dominates the valley. When you reach Mâlain, the ruins of the castle are clearly visible.
Perched on a rocky outcrop on the Mâlain fault, dominating the village with its imposing ruins, the castle is a seigniory attested as early as the 11th century. The families who successively occupied it from its origins to the French Revolution (the Sombernons, the Montagues, the Beaufremonts, the Mâlains, the Brulards, the Vichys) played important roles in Burgundy and even at the King's court.
For over thirty years, the château has been gradually restored by a team of enthusiasts.
