Musée de la Loire

Located in Burgundy on the Bords de Loire, the museum presents two distinct collections :

• Evidence of the many human activities associated with one of Europe's greatest rivers, through paintings, sculptures, photographs, prints, models, tools, everyday objects...
• And a collection of paintings featuring some of the great names in Modern ART (Transports Regulation Authority): Dufy, Vlaminck, Derain, Manguin, Chagall...

Its collections are presented in a remarkable setting : the town's former Augustinian convent and its adjoining guardhouse. Both date from the 17th century and are listed as historic monuments.

The Musée de la Loire has been designated a "Musée de France" by the French Ministry of Culture.

Wars and revolution are also on the agenda. Some tales will take you to the shores of Haiti, while others will let you soar to new heights with the crazy epic of hot-air ballooning. For those who prefer terra firma, plunge into the world of the magic lantern, ancestor of the cinematographic projector. Don't worry, there's something for everyone! Novels, theater, Greek or Buddhist myths...
