Le Musée du Temps
The Musée du Temps is the only museum of its kind to take us on a journey through time and history. Housed in the Palais Granvelle, a superb Renaissance building, the museum pays tribute to Besançon's watchmaking history and tradition.
Visitors to the three floors of the palace will discover rich and varied collections, from sundials to atomic clocks, and tapestries depicting the history of Charles V. In the face of man's perpetual quest to measure time, it is also Time in its symbolic dimension and its inescapable flight that are evoked through precious objects and ancient paintings.
After admiring Foucault's pendulum, which demonstrates that the earth rotates, the tour ends at the palace tower, which offers a superb panoramic view of the city.
