Place d'Armes and the Watch Tower

Start in the Place d'Armes, one of the liveliest squares in Calais, renowned for its colourful market. If you look up, you won't be able to miss the Tour du Guet, which towers over the square at a height of 39 metres. Dating from the 13th century, this tower is the town's oldest monument.

Belfry of the Town Hall and the Bourgeois de Calais

Many of Calais' monuments are listed or registered as historic monuments. In the heart of the town, the town hall and its belfry, typically Flemish, rise to over 75 metres and are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
