The Lewarde Mine History Centre

The Centre Historique Minier (Historical Mining Centre) is a cultural landmark in the Hauts-de-France region, bearing witness to a fascinating human and industrial history spanning almost three centuries (1720-1990).

Located on the site of the former Delloye pit in Lewarde (59), near Douai, the Centre Historique Minier is the largest mining museum in France. It is one of the outstanding sites in the Nord and Pas-de-Calais coalfields included on UNESCO's World Heritage List.
