Located in La Guerche-sur-l'Aubois on the eastern branch of the Berry canal, the Tuilerie, founded by Thomas Sauvard in 1852, is one of the witnesses of an architectural and technical heritage.
This mechanical tile factory is one of the oldest in the region. The permanent exhibition is designed inside and around a Hoffmann kiln composed of two parallel galleries 32 metres long.
The tour is punctuated by media, animated models and audio testimonies presenting the themes of water, earth, fire and people. Clay is the main theme of this journey, evoked through the processes of its transformation.
The Tuilerie also invites you to dive into the world of bats, which are the mysterious hidden residents of the site.
