MEMORIAL HOUSE
On the 25th August 1944, 124 inhabitants of the village of Maillé were massacred by German soldiers and the village was almost entirely destroyed.
Totally forgotten in the post-war years, this tragedy has for a long time raised many questions: by whom was it committed and for what reasons? Why so many years of oblivion?
Opened in 2006, the House of Remembrance helps to understand the context in which it took place and explains how and why this tragedy remained forgotten for so long. The last rooms of the permanent exhibition are devoted to the civilian victims of contemporary conflicts
