Do you have a question ?

  • The appeal of cycle tourism in the region resulted in record numbers of cyclists on Aléop trains in 2023/24. Consequently, the promise of free, unrestricted access for bikes was not always possible to uphold. Customers had to transfer to another train or abandon their planned journey. The introduction of a compulsory reservation system, for which a charge is made, means that a bicycle space can be guaranteed and that customers travelling with or without a bicycle enjoy have greater peace of mind.

    To sum up, the reservation:

    • Enables cyclists to travel in good conditions
    • Ensures that only trains that can accommodate bicycles are offered
    • Enables all passengers to travel by TER in peace and comfort
  • As the number of bike places is limited, make your bike reservation as far in advance of your travel date as possible.

  • No, there are no bicycle spaces in first class. If you want to travel close to your bike, we advise you to travel second class.

  • Yes, if there is a connection between 2 trains subject to reservation, one reservation per bicycle and per train is required.

  • Trailers, tricycles, three-wheelers, tandems, recumbent bicycles, cargo bikes and other large-volume equipment are not accepted on board because of their size. Folded trailers are accepted. It is also possible to reserve a "trailer" space on the Vélo Loire à Vélo train only: you need to make the reservation on the Loire à Vélo reservation website.

  • You must make one reservation per train and per bike:

If you are travelling with 1 bike and take 3 trains, your total reservation costs €3

If you are travelling with 3 bikes and take 2 trains, your total reservation costs you €66

  • Bicycles with reservations have priority and must not impede movement on board the train. We invite you to contact the on-board staff..

  • No, only if the bike is folded (considered as luggage). If it is not folded, you must have a reservation for it.

  • No, but a dismantled bike must be transported in a bag (max size: 130 x 90 cm) which will be considered as hand luggage. Without a bag, you will need to have a bike reservation for it.

  • You must split your purchase by first reserving your passenger ticket via the TER website and then your cycle ticket on the dedicated page.

  • You can download your bike reservation onto your phone, or you can go to one of the ticket offices in the station, to a ticket agent during screening or to the ticket inspector, showing your confirmation email on the day of your journey. Staff will give you a completed label to affix to the handlebars of your bike, displaying all the relevant information.

  • If you have downloaded your bike reservation onto your phone, this will be sufficient, otherwise you can go to the station or to the ticket inspector and show your confirmation email on the day of your journey. Staff will give you a completed label to affix to the handlebars of your bike displaying all the relevant information.

  • All tickets are valid for 1 day for the date indicated on the ticket for all Aléop trains. We invite you to transfer to another train and make a bicycle reservation on this one.

In the event of overcrowding, and in the absence of a valid bicycle reservation, SNCF reserves the right to refuse to accept bicycles on board.

  • Your journey has 2 tickets associated with it (bike reservation + passenger ticket). Two actions are required for reimbursement: For passengers: cancel your ticket on the purchase channel in accordance with the fare conditions. For bikes: cancel your booking via the bike reservation platform (link on the printed or downloaded bike reservation form).

  • No, your passenger ticket remains valid for all trains but your bike reservation must be exchanged on the bike reservation platform

  • No, the refund is automatic once the reservation has been cancelled.
