Conditions of access for bicycles on TER trains: best practices to follow

For more relaxed journeys on our trains

On most TER SUD Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur trains, your bicycle travels free of charge, suspended or placed in a dedicated space within the limits of available seats.

Bicycles will not be allowed on TER trains during peak periods (Monday to Friday, 6.00am to 9.00am and 4.00pm to 7.00pm), particularly on the Marseille-Toulon-Hyères/Les Arcs line.

Bulky vehicles such as cargo bikes, tandem bikes, unmounted bike trailers and scooters larger than 130 x 90 cm will be banned at all times.

Good practices

  • Choose less busy train times (mid-morning or mid-afternoon).

  • Before you set off, find out what the traffic situation is like. If it is too busy, your bicycle may be refused.

  • For easier access to the train, unhook your luggage from your bicycle on the platform.

  • On the train, do not use your bicycle to obstruct traffic or access to exits or service areas.

  • Cargo bikes, tandem bikes, unassembled bike trailers and scooters larger than 130 x 90 cm are not permitted.

Be responsible for your bicycle!
